Linda L. Lewis age 69 of Warroad passed away on Friday, October 27 at her home in Warroad, MN.
Linda Lewis was born on January 23, 1937 in Warroad, MN. She is the daughter of Harry and Myrtle (Meyers) Muirhead. She was raised in Swift, MN and attended school there through the sixth grade. She then attended Warroad High School where she graduated in 1955.
On June 6, 1956 she and Robert Lewis were united in marriage. They moved to Milwaukee, WI and lived there until 1969 when they moved back to the Warroad area and bought a farm in Swift. Linda worked at Marvin Window until retiring in 1988 when she had health complications. She stayed at home caring for her own health and to spend more time with her family which she loved dearly.
Linda was active in Zion Lutheran Church, and loved to sew. She taught Sunday school for many years, in Milwaukee and in Warroad. She loved the Sunday school kids and was able to achieve many wonderful things while teaching. Her Sunday School Classes knew the Bible when they finished with Linda. They were well behaved, and were interested in God. She was a wonderful teacher. Linda also liked to fish, cook, and was a whiz at Scrabble. She enjoyed listening to all kinds of music and laughing with family and friends. But, most of all Linda had tremendous love for her grandchildren and family. They were most special to her.
Linda Lewis is survived by her husband Robert of Warroad, her children Steve (Jill) Lewis of Roseau, Barbara (Buck) Bue of Warroad, and Nathaniel (Rebecca) Lewis of Warroad; seven grandchildren, Rick Lewis, Samantha (Ryan)Coons, Stephanie and Katlin Bue, and Abigail, Michaela, and Nathaniel Lewis; one great-granddaughter Bethany Coons; brother Harry “Sonny” (Etta) Muirhead of Roseau, sister Elaine (Ralph) Grill of International Falls, MN; brothers-in-law Robert Ganyo, Guy Fish, and Sam Risser, and sister-in-law Donna Muirhead. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Linda is preceded in death by her parents, and siblings Violet Ganyo, Millie Muirhead, Louise Jacobson, Marian Austin, Ione Freeman, Peter Muirhead, Margie Fish, and Carmen Risser.
