Linda Lou Hill-Carpenter of Pascagoula, MS born July 7, 1942 passed on to God’s eternal glory August 11th, 2020 quietly surrounded by her sister, sons and grandchildren who were her greatest source of pride.

Linda Lou was born in Moss Point, MS to Myra V. and Z.T. Hill and at an early age relocated to Chatom, AL where she would remain until she graduated from Washington County High School. After high school she was married to Robert Michael Cunningham and had 2 sons before Mike’s passing in 1966.

Mrs. Carpenter  was an avid college football fan and loved having friends and family over to watch the Alabama Crimson Tide take the field on Saturdays during the Fall but the true attraction was the mounds of shrimp and fried chicken she always made for anyone who showed up and showed up hungry. She was also a member of the Krewe of Venus Carnival Club and enjoyed carnival balls as well as Mardi Gras parades and all the festivities of the season.

Who ever said women were to be seen and not heard definitely never knew Linda. She was never afraid to let you know what was on her mind but at the same time had a compassionate heart for those who were suffering life’s woes. The fire on her tongue was nothing compared to the inferno in her heart.

Linda is survived by her sisters Gayle Miller and Faye Atkinson as well as her sons Robert Michael Cunningham II and Rex Tyrone Cunningham. She is also survived by her grandchildren Mandalyn Krebs, Chance Cunningham, Myra Cunningham, Michael Cunningham, Mali Cunningham, Danielle Cunningham, and Murphy Rose Cunningham.
