Bath – Leverett “Tink” R. Mitchell, 68, a lifelong resident of Bath, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2016 at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.
He was born in Bath on April 26, 1948, a son of Sherman H. and Elaine H. (Munsey) Mitchell Sr. He attended Bath schools and graduated from Morse High School in the Class of 1967. He entered the United States Navy serving in two tours in the Vietnam War and received the Bronze Star. Tink was employed at Bath Iron Works for eight years and then for the Bath Fire Department for 27 years where he served as Chief for the last four years. On April 23, 2005 he married Diane Maney. He operated his own roofing business for many years and was employed at Sable Oaks Horse Farm, the Bath Lodge of Elks, Hermit Island Campground and was a volunteer to many other organizations.
Tink was a member of the Bath Lodge of Elks, the Bath Sunrise Rotary and the VFW. He was very active in the community.
