Leslie F. Lutz of Denton, MD, died on Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at the home of his son, Leslie F. Lutz, Jr. in Hyannis, MA. He was 92 years old.
Born in Camden, NJ on December 19, 1923, Mr. Lutz was the son of the late Raymond M. Lutz and Matilda Heinel Lutz and the stepson of the late Margaret Helen Lutz. His wife, Jeanette M. Lutz, died January 9, 2004.
Mr. Lutz had retired from Verizon (formerly Bell Atlantic then AT&T) in the early 1980’s. He was a US Army veteran of WWII where he was a medic on a ship, having made 16 crossings of the Atlantic during his service. He had been a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Denton and the Temple Lodge #128 AF&AM. He had moved to Hyannis in August 2015.
Mr. Lutz is survived by his two sons: Leslie F. Lutz, Jr. with whom he lived and Terry L. Lutz of Wildwood, FL; and one ½ sister, Marion Calloway of Denton; and 3 grandchildren, Derek Stafford, Dustin Lutz and Adam Lutz as well as 5 great grandchildren, Rain, Memphis, and Cadi Lutz and Summer and Samantha Stafford. In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by two ½ sisters: Betty Jane Kaufman and Muriel Butler.
