Fortified with the sacraments of Holy Mother Church. Loving father of Terry (Theresa) Gittemeier, LeeAnn (Dale) Alexander, Diana (Jeffrey) Hartnett, Sharon (John) Hellebusch, Lori (Daryn) Weatherman. Brother of Mary Gittemeier and Laura Chickering. He was the son of the late Anthony and Lucille (nee Haarman) Gittemeier. Beloved grandfather of 15 grandchildren and one great-grand child. Since 1962, he ran his own contracting business.
