LeRoy A. “Bud” Olson, 92, of Lincoln, NE, and formerly of Hibbing, passed away December 22, 2015. Bud was born July 22, 1923 in Grand Forks, ND to Alfred and Evelyn (McDonald) Olson. Bud was a WWII U. S. Navy Veteran. Bud was a loving father, grandfather, devoted friend, dedicated professional, and an honorable man. He stood by his family, friends and colleagues through good and bad. He made a difference in all our lives and made our world a better place. We will all miss him terribly.
Bud was a Grocery Manager for the National T store in Hibbing – retiring after 32 years of service. He worked as an advertising sales rep for the Manney’s Shopper, and as a security guard at the Hibbing Hospital. He was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hibbing, the Hibbing Rotary Club, the Lincoln East Rotary Club and the VFW in Hibbing. Bud also volunteered at the Greyhound Bus Museum from its opening until 2006.
Grateful for sharing his life are daughters, Cindy (Mike) Knezovich and Nancy Roszak; son, Skeeter Olson. Bud’s legacy of family and love will continue in his grandchildren, Bryce (Susie), Derek, Butch (Brittany), Annie (Larry) and Ryan; great-grandchildren, Ava, Mya, Hunter, Thor Michael; many nieces and nephews; brothers and sisters-in-law.
Bud was preceded in death by his wife: Elaine in 2005; sister: Shirley; brother: Keith; and his parents.
