Obituary
Leora “Leo” Scholten nee Uthe passed away on May 26, 2017 at the age of 76. Leo was born on October 20, 1940 in Swiss, MO to Ora Henrietta Uthe nee Stiefferman and Leo Herbert Uthe. Leo moved to Wright City at the age of 7, she attended Wright City School graduating in May 1958 valedictorian of her class. Leo’s first marriage bared 2 children; 1 son, 1 daughter. Leo married her soul mate Ollie on May 31, 1982 at her “Sleepy Hollow” country home where they resided until Ollie’s passing on June 5, 1999 from cancer into this marriage 6 step-children were gained 5 girls and 1 boy. Leo was a people person, she enjoyed art, landscaping, coin collecting, antiques, traveling and shopping. Leo was not the type of person to let any grass grow under foot, usually working more than one part time job while raising a family. She was also a girl scouts leader, 4-H leader during her children’s involvement in these activities. Leo worked for Kroger for 22 years. She loved animals of all sorts, mainly horses and dogs but also raised orphaned squirrels and one raccoon as pets. Leo also loved decorating and writing poems for family and friends for special occasions. Leo is survived by her 2 children; 1 son, 1 daughter; 6 step-children-1 boy and 5 girls; 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; 1 step-brother, 1 step-sister, and one half sister, several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents and her beloved husband Ollie. Leora will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
