Leonard Edward Nichols died Saturday, February 20, 2016, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 7o years old. Mr. Nichols was born in Washington D.C. He was the son of the late Leonard C. Nichols and Ellen L. Nichols. Mr. Nichols had retired from Lenco Mechanical Contractor which he owned and operated with his wife for over 35 years. Mr. Nichols was a member of the Masonic Temple Lodge #128 A.F. & A.M. and was a long-term member of the Chamber of Commerce. He had also coached baseball in Denton Little League and youth soccer for many years. Mr. Nichols is survived by his wife of 51 years, L. Elaine Nichols of Denton; three children: Dana Pate and her husband Allen “Sam” of Denton, Michaele “Missy” Butler and her husband Michael of Denton, and Leonard “Buddy” E. Nichols II and his wife Megan of Denton; a sister, Katherine Bakes of Slidell, LA; and seven grandchildren: Randall, Savannah, Cori, Mick, Sara, Mason, and Shelton.
