Leona C. Englert, 90, of Hermann, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Hermann Area District Hospital.
Leona was born in Butler, Illinois on November 10, 1925, the daughter of the late Henry G. & Theresa (Meyer) Meyer.
Leona was a member of St. George Church, Hermann and a former member of the Hermann Eagles Auxiliary. She worked at Langenberg Hat Factory in Berger, for International Shoe Company, and at Hawthorne. After working at Hawthorne she went to work at Handi-Pac, now Pretium Packaging, where she worked for 24 years.
Leona is survived by two daughters, Leola Horn & husband Bob of Urbandale, Iowa; and Diane Carney & husband Larry of Holts Summit, Missouri; by five sons Norbert Englert & wife Janice of Hermann, Missouri; Harold Englert & wife Willa of Berger, Missouri; Leon Englert & wife Terry of Rhineland, Missouri; Glen Englert of Hermann, Missouri; and Larry Englert & wife Sherry of Rhineland, Missouri; by a brother-in-law Linus LaBoube of Hermann, by 22 grandchildren, two step grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, eight step great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by a son Leroy George Englert, by three brothers Robert, Joseph & Wilford Meyer, a sister Marie LaBoube, three grandchildren Sara Carney, Stephen Carney and Dusty Englert and a great grandchild James Cogley.
Family get-togethers were very important to Leona.
