Age 93, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2016. He was born on June 1, 1923 in Lansing the son of John and Amanda (Rademacher) Wohlfert. Leon was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Westphalia, and a member of the St. Joseph Society. He loved farming and later woodworking. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Richard; brother, Ernest; sisters Rita Schafer, Rosemary Spitzley and Alice Pline. Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Margaret; children Steven (Theresa) Wohlfert, Janet (David) Claus, Jerry (Cathy) Wohlfert, Paul (Carol) Wohlfert, David (Sheri) Wohlfert, Mark (Cindy) Wohlfert, Marvin Wohlfert, Allen (Cathy) Wohlfert, and Marlene (James) Schumacher; daughter-in-law, Toni (Stan) Wirth; 41 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; sister, Laura Pline; many nieces and nephews.
