Leola Kathryn Heffron, age 99, longtime resident of Hibbing and formerly of International Falls, MN, Littlefork, MN, Hollywood, CA, and Duluth, MN, died Thursday, March 17, 2016, at Cornerstone Villa in Buhl. She was born February 15, 1917 in Mizpah, MN, the daughter of Reuben and Flora Bell (Mooney) Bowman. She graduated from Mizpah High School and went on to receive her BS in Health from Bemidji State University. She was united in marriage to Roy Heffron in 1969 in Prior Lake, MN.
Lee worked as a Nurse for Dr. Hanover in Littlefork and later for Dr. Reynolds in Hibbing. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, and was a former member of the Sons of Norway Midnatsolen Lodge #058, the Kiwanis club, and the Elks Lodge in Hibbing.
Lee is survived by extended family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Roy; and her nephew: Larry Bowman.
