Age 84, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2003. She was born in Kevil, Kentucky on August 12, 1918 the daughter of Lonnie and Willie Grief. Mrs. Fisher was a longtime resident of Ionia, moving to Schnectady, New York in 1988. She was a bus driver for the Ionia Public Schools and also worked for Koss Drug Store, retiring from both positions. She was a former member of the Eastern Star as well as a former member of the First Baptist Church of Ionia. She married Thomas ALexander in 1938 and he preceded her in death in 1982. Surviving are her loving husband, George Fisher, whom she married in August 1999; son, Dennis (Elizabeth) Alexander of St. Petersburg, FL; daughter, Nancy (Ed) Sleder of North Carolina; grandchildren, Cristy Stoddard of Hubbardston, Greg (Tammy) Alexander of Ionia, Ted (Marilyn) Sleder of Dexter, Susan (Neville) Manohar of Saline, and Tom (Dana) Sleder of Garden City; 7 great grandchildren, Christopher, Gregory, and Joshua Stoddard, Thomas Alexander, Charles and Audrey Sleder, and ALex Manohar; brother, L.W. (Louise) Grief of Jackson. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and four brothers.
