Age 71, loving husband, dad, and grandpa passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2013 after a long hard fought battle with cancer. He was born on March 28, 1942 in Lansing the son of Norman and Marie (Werner) Klein. Larry was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the K of C #2168 in Portland. He loved his family and loved being a grandpa. He was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers, enjoyed English walnuts, going to casinos, traveling, sprint car racing and just sitting on his patio listening to the wind chimes. On April 25, 1964 he married Rita Smith. Larry is preceded in death by his parents; in-laws Edwin and Regina Smith; sister and brothers-in-law Geannie (Bob) Shattuck, Bill Stajos, Christie Goodman, Wayne Gray, Donald and Richard Smith. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Rita; children Dennis (Victoria) Klein, Sandra (Randy Helmer) Klein, Kenneth (Kim Johnson) Klein; grandchildren Fischer and Jorden Klein and Jenna Johnson; siblings James (Jean) Klein, Jan Stajos, Thomas (Cathy) Klein, Colleen (Ron) Gladding; in-laws Jerome (Jewal) Smith, Jim (Linda) Smith, Patricia Goodman, Evelyn Smith, Marlyn Smith and Liz Gray; many nieces and nephews.
