Lawrence Roy Christianson, Jr., age 80, longtime resident of Hibbing and Kelly Lake died Wednesday, April 17, 2013, in his home. He was born June 18, 1932, in Minneapolis the son of Lawrence and Lydia (Flermoen) Christianson. He graduated from Hibbing High School in 1950. A veteran of the US Army, Larry served in the 1st Cavalry Regiment during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Georgia Alyce Pajunen on October 28, 1954, in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hibbing.
Larry worked as an electrician for 29 years with Eveleth Taconite Co. – retiring in 1994. He was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, the Aad Shrine, and the Mesaba Rangers, was past Master of Masonic Lodge #255 in Hibbing, and was a member of VFW Post 8510.
Larry is survived by his wife: Georgia; his six daughters: Susan Jones of Bemidji, MN, Lori (Ole) Brown of Sprucedale, Ontario, Rhonda (Ron) Wiiliainen of Hibbing, Hope (Tim) Renskers of Hibbing, Lisa (Kevin) Knoop of Forest Lake, MN, and Maria (Keith) Paulson of Duluth, MN; 21 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister: Ruth Martin; two brothers: Marvin and Jerry Christianson; and his granddaughter: Whitney Arseneau. Also, his grand dog: Buddy.
