Levetta M. Christenson, age 94, longtime resident of Hibbing died Thursday, March 21, 2013, in her home, Aspenwood, in Hibbing. She was born April 10, 1918, in Saint Charles, MN, the daughter of Lloyd and Mabel (Hermanson) Christenson.
Levetta worked at the East Range DAC. She loved to wear dresses, jewelry, sunglasses, and headbands. She enjoyed airplanes. Levetta played piano “by ear”, and was the winner of the Outstanding Sr. Citizen Competition when she was 84 for her work with Meals on Wheels and for playing the piano at Golden Crest Nursing Home.
Levetta is survived by her sister: Mavis Santeramo of Loveland, CO; two brothers: Lloyd Christenson of Scottsdale, AZ, and Theron (Diane) Christenson of Tucson, AZ; numerous nieces and nephews, and the staff and residents at Aspenwood and the Range Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister: Dorothy Opacich; and her nephew: Larry A. Christenson.
