Age 66, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2013. She was born on February 18, 1947 in Wayne County, Michigan the daughter of Robert and Winifred (Gogarn) Haskins. Laurey cleaned up at the Ionia County Fair Craft Barn, winning numerous blue ribbons. She also judged and showed horses, was State Appaloosa Queen, and showed Hereford cattle, including her bull “Gus”, who was Reserve National Champion. Laurey also enjoyed cooking, crocheting and needle work. Her companion, golden retriever “Jake” is by her side keeping an eye on her. Preceding her in death were her parents. Surviving are her husband, James Bower; children, Michael (Jenny) Bower, and Robin (Dan) Riker; brother, Tim (Sharon) Atkinson of Summerville, SC; brothers-in-law, Dave (Kim) Bower, and Dale (Linda) Bower; sisters-in-law, Mary Kay (Byron) Kincaid, and Karen Halsey.
