Kenneth Cecil Allnutt, age 99 of Damascus, MD, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2023. Ken was born November 22, 1923. Ken was preceded in death by his wife Betty, parents Cecil and Hazel Allnutt, and sister Margaret McManamy.
Kenneth is survived by his son and wife Dean and Alice Allnutt, daughter and husband Linda and Tim Fogarty, grandchildren – Matthew Allnutt, Chris Allnutt (Jan), Katie Panikian (Aron), Cassie DeAngelis (Stefano), Ben Brown (Melissa), great grandchildren Jace and Kayley Allnutt, Miles, Hadley and Emma Panikian, Isabella and Francesca DeAngelis, Eden, Holden (Kenneth), Liam, and Elijah Brown.
Kenneth grew up in Cedar Grove, MD and graduated from Damascus High School class of 1942. In the early 1960’s Kenneth graduated from Montgomery College with an AA degree in Engineering.
Kenneth was a WWII veteran serving in the European theater from January 1943 to November 1945. During Ken’s time in England, he met and married Betty Mary Dean, the love of his life. After the war Kenneth served as a reserve in the Maryland Minute Men. Kenneth retired after many years from the Naval Ordnance Lab (NOL) in Silver Spring, MD.
Kenneth grew up in the Upper Seneca Baptist Church where he was a member at the time of his passing. Kenneth took an active part in the building and startup of the First Baptist Church in Damascus, MD, where he served as a deacon and Sunday School Superintendent. Kenneth enjoyed camping with his family in Maryland, New England, and Canada. Kenneth loved dancing the Polka with Betty at Blobs Park on a weekly basis. He will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather.
