Kathleen Larson, 72, of rural Argyle, MN, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2018, in North Valley Health Center, Warren, MN, with her family at her side.

Kathleen Ruth was born on September 14, 1946, in Warren, to Hans and Ruth (Liedberg) Kirkeide.

With David in the military, the couple made their first home on Loring AFB, in northern Maine. After the birth of their first child, Kathy returned home to Argyle and lived with her family while David continued his service. Following his return, the two eventually made their home near the family land and raised two more children. In addition to being a cornerstone of the Alma Lutheran community, teaching Sunday School and serving on the Alma WMF and Church Council, Kathy was involved over the years in the Argyle American Legion Auxiliary, the Argyle Red Hat Society, and Riverside 4-H Club. She started working in the office of Stephen Chiropractic in 1978, and in 1985 took a job at the county courthouse, working for the Marshall Co. Highway Dept until her retirement in 2013.

Kathy was excellent at quilting and sewing and her grandchildren treasured the quilts she made each graduate, not to mention the annual birthday cake from “grandma.” In more recent years, Kathy and Dave enjoyed a great deal of travel, taking over a dozen cruises to various parts of the globe.

In addition to her husband, David, Kathleen is survived by her children, Kevin (Kelly-Ann) Larson of Richfield, MN, Michelle (Jason) Flanders of Minto, ND, and Chris (Roxanne) Larson of Long Prairie, MN; eight grandchildren, Grant and Linae Larson, Devin, Danika, Deidra, and Danielle Flanders, and Cameron and Benjamin Larson; siblings, Bonnie (Larry “Skip”) Murray of Mount Iron, Madelyn (Leroy) Vigen of Thief River Falls, and Harlan (Nancy) Kirkeide of Thief River Falls, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
