Passed away peacefully on February 28, 2023 after a long battle with dementia. Preceded in death by parents Carl and Mickey Anderson and nephew Carl Velleno. Survived by husband of 59 years, Bryan; son Doug, daughter Lisa (Bob) Schaefer; grandchildren Erin (Paul) Reberg and Jeff Schaefer; sisters Judy (John) Kolb, Dianne (Hap) Velleno, Cindy (Gary) Anfenson; brother Craig (Mariam) Anderson; nieces, nephews and loving friends. Karen graduated from high school in Austin, MN. She attended Northwestern School of Nursing and became an RN. She worked at Mounds Park Hospital and later at Maplewood Surgery Center. A long-time regular at the St. Paul Bridge Center, she was a life master bridge player and loved the game. She was also an avid sports fan.
