K. Thomas Everngam of Easton, MD died in Palliative Care at the Memorial Hospital (UMSMC) on Monday, May 1, 2017. Tom died in his loving wife’s arms with his son and daughter holding each of his hands.
Born in Washington, D.C. on February 29, 1940, (a Leap Year baby) Tom was the son of the late Honorable K. Thomas Everngam, Sr. and Mary Katharine Reinhart Everngam. The family moved to Denton, MD. when he was a young child. Tom was proud to have graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, NH and then from Princeton University in Princeton, NJ. He and his wife, Jeanne C. Everngam of Easton, were married 5 days later on June 17, 1962. Tom was a Certified Public Accountant and had proudly served the Midshore Region as such for 47 years. He was a life member of the Easton Rotary and was honored by the Club for his 50 years as a member. He was also a Paul Harris fellow. In addition, he volunteered for the Waterfowl Festival for over 20 years and had also been involved with many public and social projects in Easton and Talbot County. Mr. Everngam was a member of the Talbot Country Club for over 50 years, served on the Board of Directors for nine years and was the Club’s treasurer for many years. He also began their Wednesday night league. Tom was a proud member of the Merion Golf Club for 20 years. A hole-in-one is something all golfers dream of and he was able to accomplish that feat, not once, but 5 times! Tom was an Eagle Scout, an honor he earned at the age of 14. He proudly carried his Eagle Scout card in his wallet his whole life.
In addition to his wife, Jeanne, Mr. Everngam is survived by his son, R. Scott Everngam of Stoney Beach, MD, daughter, Laura E. Price (Richard) of Easton; his; his sister, Sally Croll of Denton; and two grandchildren, Nicholas Price and Justin Price, both of Easton. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Katharine Rueger in 1982.
