June Elaine Dunlop, aged 87, died on 30 March 2023 at Amira Choice, her memory care unit in the Minneapolis area. June was born in 1935 to Roy and Winnifred Lang of Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan. She attended Grosse Pointe Woods schools, Albion College and Michigan State University. Graduating with a BA in French, June became a secretary for Dow Corning’s International Department in Midland, Michigan. There she met Andrew Dunlop, originally of Glasgow, Scotland. They married in June 1959. After living in Canada, England and Connecticut because of Andy’s job, June and Andy settled in Midland (for the third time) in 1978. June lived in Midland until September 2019, making many fine friends along the way. June’s family are very grateful for the generous friends who supported June in her later years in Midland.
June was a devoted wife and mother, staying home to look after her children until beginning part-time work as a secretary at the Midland Tennis Center when her children were teenagers.
June is survived by her sister, Marilyn Thomas of Farmington Hills, Michigan; her children, Beth Dunlop of Scotland and Bruce Dunlop (Vicki) of the Minneapolis area; and three grandchildren (Alexis and Connor Dunlop and Max Dunway). She is also survived by nephew Keith Thomas (Ghis), niece Kay Thomas, and niece Ellen Hanna (Randy) and their children. June was predeceased by her husband Andy Dunlop (2005).
June will be remembered for her kindness, gentleness, and integrity.
