Judith N. McCormick, 89, of New Athens, Illinois, formerly of Hermann, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at New Athens Care Center.
Mrs. McCormick was born in Washington Township, New Jersey on April 23, 1924, the daughter of the late Conrad Julius and Judith (Quanchi) Ochs.
Judith married Merlin T. Rathert on May 15, 1948 at Bogota, New Jersey. Merlin preceded her in death on May 29, 1978. She then later married Willard J. McCormick on June 7, 1980. Willard passed away on March 23, 1998.
Judith and her husband Merlin owned a dry cleaning business in Hermann and also a real estate business, Rathert Real Estate. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Stars of Hermann and the House & Hobby Club of Hermann.
Judith is survived by a daughter Kimberly Schaefer & husband Gene of Rolla, Missouri, a son Kirby Rathert of New Athens, a step-daughter Judy Wood & husband John of Nashville, Tennessee, a brother Robert Ochs of Arizona, by three grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Merlin, her second husband Willard, a step-daughter Janet McCormick, a grandson Joshua Schaefer and a step-grandson Vincent Wood.
