Judy Dexter’s spirit is in the presence of God.  She died peacefully at John Hopkins due to health complications, the morning of May 30, 2013. She was the daughter of the late John H. and Phylis Snyder Bradley.  Judy is survived by her husband, Charles E. Dexter, as well as 4 children; Richard Dexter of Pennsylvania, Scott Dexter of Ellicott City, MD, Michael Dexter of Columbia, MD, and Kirsten Earp of Ellicott City, MD.  She is also survived by 3 daughter-in-laws; Heather Dexter, Stefanie Dexter, and Heather “H2” Dexter, a son-in-law, Justin Earp, 5 grandchildren; Aidan Dexter, Jacob Dexter, Caleb Dexter, Cameron Dexter,  Mikayla Earp, and a sister, Barbara Kinney of Florida.

Judy’s generous, caring, thoughtful and amazing ability to listen and love, was truly an inspiration to our family and friends.  Her last 6 months consisted of many ups and downs, yet she remained strong and hopeful at every mountain she crossed.  We are so proud of Judy (Mom) for her consistent strength, optimism, and fearlessness through these times.  Even though her ultimate goal of getting better and being able to hug her grandkids and see the birth of future grandchildren, was never fulfilled, we know she will be watching over them, and smiling from above as they grow.  She was immensely comforted by the unwavering assurance that God was ultimately in complete control of everything, and that He would hold her hand through the valley of the shadow of death and come to dwell in His House forever.  Sorrow may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning-Psalm 30:5…We love you Mom.

Judy’s body will lie in state at the Roy W.

Our deepest gratitude goes to the nurses and doctors of Mercy Medical and John Hopkins Hospital, as you became part of our family during her care.
