Joyce W. Wood of Queen Anne, MD died Saturday, September 23, 2017, at her home. She was 85 years old.
Born in Chestertown, MD on May 23, 1932, Mrs. Wood was the daughter of the late Harold Copper Williams, Sr. and Evelyn Carter Williams. Her husband, John Lawrence Wood, Jr., died August 23, 2001. Mrs. Wood was a 1949 graduate of the Chestertown High School where she was the Sr. Class President. After attending Washington College in Chestertown, she and her husband were married on October 1, 1952.
Mrs. Wood is survived by two sons: J. Lawrence Wood, III of Queen Anne and W. Victor Wood and his wife Teri of Centreville, MD; two grandchildren: Vicki Wood Dean and her husband Brad of Queen Anne and Joyce F. Wood of Chestertown; two great grandchildren, Victor Beckwith Dean and Barley Lawrence Dean; and her two faithful Jack Russells, Bandit and Axl. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Harold C. Williams, Jr.
