Joseph L. Reinhardt of Denton, MD died Monday, October 31, 2016, at the Caroline Nursing Home in Denton. He was 94 years old.
Born September 26, 1922 on a farm in Erie County near Wales, NY, Mr. Reinhardt was the son of the late John Frank Reinhardt and Magdalene Valentine Reinhardt. His wife, Frances E. Reinhardt, died December 21, 2006.
Mr. Reinhardt joined the Army Air Corps on December 17, 1942 and was discharged in 1946.
For many years he built houses for the Nuttle Lumber Co. in Denton and in 1965 he started as a Ranger at Martinak State Park in Denton. From 1973 until he retired in 1987 after 23 years, he was the Resident Park Ranger at Martinak. He loved nature and watching birds, collecting Indian artifacts, and playing fun pranks on his family and friends. He was also a past member of the NRA and the MD Archaeological Society.
Mr. Reinhardt is survived by two sons: Joseph D. Reinhardt (Susan) of Ijamsville, MD and Robert L. Reinhardt of Felton, DE; three brothers: Arthur F. Reinhardt of Ashburn, VA, Anthony E. Reinhardt of Sebring, FL, Robert G. Reinhardt of Niceville, FL; one sister, Rose A. Yoder of Tonawanda, NY; two grandsons: Bill and Daniel Reinhardt; and one great granddaughter: Abigail. He was also survived by a very large extended family.
He was preceded in death by his siblings Adam Stephen Reinhardt, Ann Schuler, Helen Marie Kohl, Edith Mary Rokaska, John Frank Reinhardt, Jr., Elizabeth Katie Hayes, Kathryn M. DiNatale, Lawrence John Reinhardt, Frederick Frank Reinhardt, and George David Reinhardt.
