Joseph “Clive” Troutt, 86, of Steelville, MO passed away Monday, November 26, 2007 at Gibbs Care Center in Steelville, MO. He was born July 12, 1921 at Forest Hill, MO, the son of Erb and Gertrude (Koehn) Troutt. On January 29, 1949, he was united in marriage to Doris Eaton Troutt who survives.
In addition to his wife of fifty-eight years, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his three sons, Joe Troutt and wife Kathy of St. James, MO, Jon Troutt and wife Karen and Vick Troutt and wife Loretta all of Steelville, MO; three daughters, Judy Bell of Cherryville, MO, Janet West and husband Steve and Nancy Halbert and husband Draton all of Steelville, MO; two sisters, Ethel Allison of Cuba, MO and Helen Higgins and husband Leland of Leasburg, MO; nine grandchildren, Kimberly and husband Jeff McMillen, Chris and wife Robin Troutt, Laura and husband Preston Turner, Jonny and wife Tiffany Troutt, Jason Troutt, Justin Troutt, Susan and husband John Bunch, Peggy and husband Jon Adams, and Lucas Halbert; two step grandchildren, Jason and wife Debby West and Drew and wife Erin West; fifteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; other relatives and friends. His parents, and one brother in-law, Homer Allison, preceded him in death.
Clive served in the U.S. Army from 1942-1946 attached to the 7th Air Force serving in the Philippines. He was a long time farmer and enjoyed buying and selling real estate as a sideline. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bourbon and had attended the First Assembly of God Church in Steelville. Clive had been president of the National Farmers Organization in Steelville for many years, he was on the Board of Directors for nine years when consolidating the Cherryville and Viburnum school districts, and instrumental in attaining the Quad County Fire Protection District. He was a member of the American Legion at Bourbon. Clive was an avid hunter and fisherman.
