Joseph Charles Brown of Glen Burnie MD, died Saturday, June 18, 2016, at Country Meadows of Frederick, MD from a lengthy battle with cancer. He was 83 years old.
He was born in Denton, MD on December 2, 1932 and was the son of the late Ernest Joseph Brown and Ethel Belle Culver Brown. He was a 1949 graduate of Caroline High School in Denton, and also attended Goldey- Beacom Business College in Wilmington, DE.
Mr. Brown had lived in Anne Arundel County for sixty years and was an Auditor/Accountant for the State of Maryland, retiring in 1993. He was a 50-year member of Masonic Temple Lodge #128 AF&AM in Denton, was a Past Patron of Odenton Chapter #29 Order of the Eastern Star and a past officer of the Grand Family in the Order of the Eastern Star. He was a member in the Scottish Rite, York Rite, and Boumi Temple. He was also a world traveler.
He is survived by his wife of over 25 years, Martha G. Brown also at Country Meadows of Frederick, and his first wife Betty L. Herman of Severn and their children: Joseph E. Brown (Rose), Dennis E. Brown, JoAnn Zola (Art), David C. Brown (Jane), Brenda S. Suit (Gary), and Deborah L. Brown. 13 Grandchildren and 23 Great Grandchildren.
Also, one brother: George Ashby Brown and five sisters: Sally Louise Cassity, Ella Marie Bieber, Bertha Jane States, Ethel Belle (Honey) Jordan, and Lettie Alice Jackowiak. He is preceded in death by one sister Nancy Ann Brown and two brothers, William Henry Brown and Melvin Ernest Brown.
