Joseph Allen Smith, of Portland, passed away December 13, 2022 at the age of 64. He was born in Lansing, Michigan on February 6, 1958 to James and Phyllis (Dryer) Smith. In Joe’s early years he enjoyed fishing with his father and often went to church with his grandmother, growing up Catholic.
Preceding him in death are his father, James; grandmother, Antoinette “Nettie” Smith; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Surviving are his loving wife of 26 years, Mary (Hoffman) Smith; mother, Phyllis; brother, Jim (Ann) Smith; sister, Debbie (Bob) Garland; sister-in-law, Stacy (fiance, Mike Cannon) Onan; and several nieces and nephews.
