John Spillane, age 86 died peacefully at home. Beloved husband of Anna Mae for 54 years. Father of Kathleen (Gary) Berlino, Dr. Dennis (Michelle) Spillane, Dr. Shawn (Mary) Spillane, Brian (Lori) Spillane, Sheila Doherty, Kevin (Kim) Spillane and Dan (Katrina) Spillane. Loving grandfather of Chris and Kellie Doherty, Patrick, Nicolas, Breanna and Amanda Spillane. John was born in Bantry, Co. Cork, Ireland and immigrated to Detroit in 1949. He worked as a construction superintendent for C. J. Rogers and Angelo Iafrate for 50 years on a number of Detroit landmark buildings and expressways built in the 1960’s and 1970’s. Dad’s proudest accomplishment was raising 7 children. His definition of a perfect day was sitting down to one of Mom’s dinners.
