John R. Draper of Denton, MD, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, August 25, 2016, at the Compass Home for Hospice in Centreville, MD. He was 70 years old.
Born in Goldsboro, MD on October 29, 1945, John was the son of the late Nelson Draper and Margaret Mahley Thomas Draper. He had attended NCHS.
John had served in the U.S. Navy. Afterwards, he learned electrical work from Bill Taylor of Milford, DE. He then went to work for Mr. Stewart Gale Electric in 1979. He then worked for Alan Greenly and in 1990, purchased Gale Electric and was owner and operator until illness forced his retirement. He had been an electrician for over 45 years.
John is survived by his wife, Cynthia Draper of Denton; two daughters, Gina Draper of Ridgely and Mehgan Draper Wessells and her husband Steve of Hurlock; a son, Brian Draper of Kansas; a stepdaughter, Tami Jenkins and her wife Beverly Bright of Felton, DE; one sister, Carolyn Brown of Denton; two ½ sisters: Marie Payne of Federalsburg and Joan VanHorn of Tucson, AZ; 5 grandchildren: Stephan, Grace, Mikaela, Tal, and Misty Mae; 4 great grandchildren: Ivy, Stephan, Maverick, and Robert; and his special friend, Linda Lapp of Leola, PA. He is preceded in death by one daughter, Jonna Roberta Grunden on July 9, 2013.
