Windham – John P. “Jack” Tanguay, 82 of Windham died on Saturday, November 16, 2013 after a lengthy illness. During this time he had a smile on his face and always had a kind word for those around him, but most importantly, he gave it his all. He was born in Portland, a son of Philip E. and Wilma (Locke) Tanguay. He was a graduate of Deering High School, class of 1949.
Mr. Tanguay served twelve years in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by the United States Postal Service and retired after 36 years. His greatest accomplishment by far was his family. He and his wife Nancy devoted their lives to creating a caring, connected family that shines on as their everlasting legacy.
Jack was predeceased by his wife, Nancy B. Tanguay, a son, Edward P. Tanguay and two brothers, Richard and Robert Tanguay.
Surviving are his three sons, James Tanguay of Windham, Daniel Tanguay, Sr. and his wife Debra of South Portland, William Tanguay of Windham, a daughter Kathryn Tanguay Doughty and her husband Timothy of Freeport, as well as eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Pauline Robey of Portland and three brothers, Philip Tanguay and his wife Patricia of Portland, Thomas Tanguay and his wife Suzette of Taunton, MA and Donald Tanguay and his wife Joyce of South Portland.
