Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Velma of Ionia; children, Bonnie (special friend Jack Hyland) Jollie of Mecosta, Dawn Cantwell of Portland, and Erik (Mary Lou) Pitchford of Ionia; step children, Sherry (Tom) Shinaver of Ionia, Richard Hilliard of Ionia, Robert (Stephanie) Babbitt of Perrington, and Niki (Tim) Osterman of Sheridan; 20 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Alice (Robert) Campbell of Arizona, Martha Pitchford of Grand Rapids, and Rosann Pitchford of Portland; several nieces and nephews.
