Age 61, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, April 8, 2006 at the U of M Hospital in Ann Arbor. Jack was born on June 2, 1944 to Ralph and Phyllis (Arlene)

Vashaw . He is retired from T.R.W. as a supervisor after 33 years of service. Jack had a fierce loyalty to family, friends and especially his country. This prompted him to enter the Marine Corp. after graduation from St. Patrick High School in 1962. He is a veteran of the Vietnam War. The love of his country carried over to his involvement in the V.F.W. Post #4090 where he became an active life member and a past Post commander. The only thing greater than his love for his country, was the love for his son, Cecil and daughter-in-law, Kristen along with his grandchildren Hilari and Hannah they were the joy of his life, and this pride and admiration overflowed everytime he would talk about them. How proud he was when his son became a Marine, and then went on to be a member of the Michigan State Police. His daughter-in-law, Kristen was like his own daughter, he often spoke of her grace and gentleness, how much he loved her and would always be with them. Jack was preceded in death by parents, brother Jim, niece Kristen, great nephew Aaron and brother-in-law Dan English. Surviving are siblings Pat (Joan) Vashaw, Valerie (Paul) Fisher, Darlene (Wayne) Schrauben, Bonnie (Wally) Czaika; special aunt and uncle, Frank (Evelyn) Vashaw of Minnesota; several nieces, nephews and special friends.
