John Bauer, 81, of Warren, MN, formerly of Thief River Falls, MN, passed away on Monday morning, June 23, 2008 at McIntosh Manor Nursing Home in McIntosh, MN.
John Bauer was born on Oct. 12, 1926 in on the farm to William and Magdalena (Wanner) Bauer at rural Mercer, ND. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He grew up and helped on his parent’s farm. He kept cattle and grew grain crops. John married Miss. Jo Anne Grueneich in Oct. of 1954 in Montana. They made their home in Mercer where they farmed. In 1970, they moved to Thief River Falls, MN where he farmed. In 2003, they moved to Warren, MN.
Survivors include his wife, Jo Anne; two children; Clinton (Karen) Bauer of Thief River Falls, MN and Barbara (Tom) Twamley of Buxton, ND, six grandchildren; Sara, John and Ivan Twamley and Michael, Matthew and Kimberly Bauer, four sisters, Emmy Fisher of Mercer, ND, Elizabeth Laib of Bismarck, ND, Freida Hultin of Minot, ND and Martha Hoppe of Underwood, ND and ten nieces and four nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister, Lydia, two brothers, Fredrick and Jacob and two nephews, Ronald Laib and Byron Laib.
