John Arthur Frye, 88, of Washington, Missouri, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2014 at Homestead at Hickory Hills, in Washington, Missouri.
Mr. Frye was born in Big Spring, Missouri on October 22, 1925, the son of the late Felix and Callie (Atterbury) Frye.
He was the husband of LaVerne Louise (Koeller) Frye. They were married in 1947 at Montgomery City, Missouri; she preceded him in death, May 3, 2011.
John is survived by three daughters, Glenda Chandler of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Marlene Mahoney & husband David of Washington, Darlene Horn & husband Mannie of Van Buren, Arkansas, three sons Felix A. Frye & wife Rosemary of Washington, John Vernon Frye & wife Gwen of Clinton, Iowa and Joseph A. Frye & wife Sandy of Washington, sister Ruth Poindexter Mexico, 15 grandchildren, 21great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister Jewell Williams, two brothers, Homer and Eugene Frye, great granddaughter Alijene Brouwer, and a great grandson Brock Daniel Mahoney.
He served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific on S.C.722, from 1943 to 1945. He was a member of the Hermann V.F.W. Post 4182.
