John A. Painter, 58 , of Pacific, passed away on January 3, 2023 after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. John was born on June 9, 1964 in Maryland Heights and was adopted by the late George Painter and Florence Borreson. He graduated from Pattonville High School in 1982 and received his Masters degree in Mathematics from St. Louis University.
He was a successful engineer and spent the last 20 years working remotely as a consultant for Panasonics Industrial Division based in Chicago. John generously used his gift to set up computer programs for many different organizations, including St. Bridget’s Church and School, St. Vincent DePaul, and St. Patrick’s Old Rock Church.
His spirit of service was present every day as he was an active member and treasurer of the Knights of Columbus, St. Patrick’s, and St. Vincent DePaul. His generosity with his time and talent will be greatly missed.
Mr. Painter was preceded in death by his parents.
Among his survivors are his wife Karen Painter of Pacific; brother, Jim Painter of Pacific; sister, Dottie Flannery and husband Tom of St. Louis; three sons, Michael and Stephen Painter of St. Louis and David Painter and wife Abby of Union; four daughters, Mary Painter and Teresa Painter of St. Louis, Monica Uhlmansiek and husband Matt of St. Louis, and Andrea Painter of North Carolina; six step-children, Angel Sherman and family from Herculaneum, Amanda Yahl of Pacific, Melissa Whitlock and family of Pacific, Dani Breckenridge and wife Mary and Kristi Glass and husband Andy all of Texas, and Matthew Frick of St. Louis; eleven grandchildren, Austin and Mia Sherman, Blake, Owen, and Elijah Whitlock, Cecelia, Daniel, and Eric Painter, Oswin and Imogen Uhlmansiek, and Myles Breckenridge; other relatives and friends.
