Joann Marian Edwards, of Ionia, passed away December 7, 2022 at the age of 90. She was born October 26, 1932, the daughter of Glen and Verna (Weatherbee) Mason. Joann was a lifetime member of Palo United Methodist Church, where she made countless friends over the years and always lent a helping hand to those in need. She retired after many years from Gibson’s in Belding. Joann had a passion for gardening and was quite the cook and baker – specializing in fried chicken, dumplings, pies, and cakes. She enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and the Lawrence Welk Show. Joann was a caring woman who made sure her family and those around her were well taken care of. Joann will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Preceding Joann in death are her parents; beloved husband of 66 years, Keith Edwards; granddaughter, Kelly Edwards; grandson, Matthew Edwards; siblings, Jean (Bud) Peterman, Bob (Margie) Mason, and Sheldon Mason. Surviving are her sons, Rick (Diane) Edwards, Steve Edwards, Kim (Jodi) Edwards, Danny Edwards, and David (special friend, Kim) Edwards; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Judy Mason; and many nieces and nephews.
