Joan M. (Smith) Nashawaty of Needham passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on October 14, 2012. She was 78 years old. Joan was born in Springfield, MA in 1933. She worked for many years as an Administrative Assistant to the President of the Academy of Arts and Sciences in Cambridge, MA. Joan is survived by her beloved husband Antoun “Jack” Nashawaty, daughter Christen Robins and her husband Kenneth of Needham, grandchildren Jill and Max Robins, her sisters Margaret Toomey of Ludlow, Nancy Puleri of FL, and Susan Buoniconti of Chatham. Joan was predeceased by her brother Daniel Smith.
