Joan Estella Cook, 72, of Pewamo passed on to be with our Lord on Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at home with her family by her side. She was a loving person to everyone who knew her, and always had a kind word to say. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pewamo. She was born on May 17, 1934, in Ionia, the daughter of Alton and Lena (Nummer) Perry. On October 3, 1958 she married Howard Mathew Cook.
Joan is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Howard, her sister Shirley Loop of Arizona, brother-in-law Al Fuja, granddaughter Terri Lynn Kieffer, and her mother-in-law Wilma “Dolly” Cook and father-in-law Isidore Cook.
She is survived by her children, Lena Sue (Walter Jr.) Kieffer of Pewamo, Peggy and Nora Cook both of Lansing, Dan Cook of Pewamo and Mathew (Tina) Cook of Pewamo. Grandchildren, Walter III, Mindy, Kyle and Shane Kieffer, Shannon Cook, and Tracie, Julissa and Michael Cook and 3 great-grandchildren. Sisters; Virginia (Terry) Wood of Ionia, Dede Annis of Mason, and brother Mike (Gwyn) Shippy of Arizona. Sister-in-law Jean Fuja of Durand, many nieces and nephews, cousins and great friends.
