Joan Babcock (Vinton) Henriksson, 82, went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on October 7, 2022 in Maple Lake, MN only two months after being diagnosed with stage four lung cancer.
Joan was born March 30, 1940 in Detroit, MI, to Robert J. Vinton and Madeline Drummond (Babcock) Vinton. She graduated from Birmingham High School in MI. She was a wife, mother of four children, an active community member, and her most important identity: a follower of Jesus Christ. In her younger years she was an active golfer, bowler and enjoyed camping. She was a passionate gardener, bird enthusiast, and avid fisherwoman.
Joan is survived by daughters Susan (Paul) Stinn of Maple Lake, MN, Kathryn (Dan) Turnacliff of Rogers, MN and son Keith (Kristen) Cornila of Dunstable, MA, along with her ten grandchildren – Tyler (Bri) Stinn, Rebecca (Mike) Dehnbostel, Alyssa Molnar, Nathan Molnar, Emma (Chris) Pliska, Mason Cornila, Grace Cornila, Katy Turnacliff, Abby Turnacliff, Garrett (Simran) Turnacliff, great grandson Tymon Stinn, sister Linda Harrison, nieces – Shannon (Robert) Guss, Jamie (Chris) Neidermeier, Cristen (Jim) Mettlach and nephews – Tim (Mary) Cornila, Tom (Sue) Cornila.
Joan was predeceased by her husband Ronald W. Henriksson, son Robert Roy Cornila and brother Jay K. Vinton.
