Jerry Henry Lawrence Hammann from Baudette, MN passed away Saturday September 2nd. He was born to Harold and Winifred (Keller) Hammann on November 21, 1941 in Grand Rapids, MN.

He graduated from Grand Rapids High School in 1960 and was united in marriage to Donna Rae Hanson on August 5, 1961.

He worked at Blandin Paper Company until 1965 when he began his trucking career running the Alaskan highway, and later as the business owner of JHT, INC. in Cohasset, MN. He truly appreciated his many employees. He was a great boss, mentor and friend. Jerry believed in working hard and living every day to its fullest. Jerry retired in 1998 to Baudette, MN.

Jerry had a passion for the outdoors and thoroughly enjoyed grouse and whitetail deer hunting. In addition he was an expert at identifying that perfect walleye chop on Lake of the Woods.

Jerry so loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, who all held a special place in his heart.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father Harold Hammann and mother Winifred Hammann. He is survived by his wife Donna; children Tammi (Patrick) Smith of Farmington, MN, Vicki (Robert) Dunnell of Grand Rapids, MN, Jerry “Buck” (Pamela) Hammann of Cloquet, MN; grandchildren, Lacey Smith, Jared (Sara) Smith, Emily (Steven) Herschbach, Ryan Dunnell, Nicholas Dunnell, Jeremy (Polly) Hammann, Justin Hammann, and Jeanna Hammann;

great grandchildren, Kylie, Ryker and Parker Smith, Alejandro and Mateo Romo Smith, Madelyn and Jacob Herschbach; sisters, Jean (Gene) Hendrickson, Nancy (Douglas) Funnell; brother, William (Penny) Hammann and numerous nieces and nephews.
