Jerome “Jerry” Swenson passed away surrounded by family after a battle with cancer on December 17, 2007 at the age of 62.

Jerome Forrest Swenson was born on January 28, 1945 in Roseau, MN to Adeline (Besserud) and Forrest Swenson. He grew up and attended school in Roseau, graduating from High School in 1963. He served in the United States Navy from November of 1964 until his honorable discharge in 1965. He lived in Minneapolis for a short time, before returning to Roseau to farm. He and Mary (Thorsen) were married on July 1, 1966 in Warroad. They farmed small grains and beef on their farm just north of Roseau. He also worked at Polaris Industries for nineteen years.

Jerome loved his work on the farm and took pride in his work. He also enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and was an active and dedicated member of the Free Lutheran Church of Roseau.

He is survived by his wife, Mary of Roseau; children, Doreen Kohl of Roseau, Joseph (Mary) Swenson of Audubon, MN, and Swen Swenson of Warroad; 7 grandchildren, Amber, Andrew, Austin, Eric, Kjerstin, John and Sarah; parents, Forrest and Adeline Swenson of Roseau; and siblings, Marsha (Russell) Kilponen of Arizona, peter (JoAnn) Swenson of Winnipeg, MB, Janet (Tom) Immormino of Maple Grove, MN, Ann Holm of Fargo, ND, and Julie (Eric) Christiansen of Centuria, WI.
