Jerald Roy Graham, age 69, beloved family man and lifetime resident of Hibbing died Friday, July 1, 2016, at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth. He was born March 13, 1947, in Hibbing the son of Roy J. and Joyce M. (Mannila) Graham. He graduated from Hibbing High School, Hibbing Jr. College, and Bemidji State University with a degree in Industrial Education. He was united in marriage to Margaret “Peggy” Sterns on September 27, 1974, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hibbing. A Veteran of the US Army, Jerry was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam Era.
Jerry worked as a maintenance mechanic in the concentrator at Hibbing Taconite for 35 years, retiring in 2010. He was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church where he served as an usher. Jerry loved boating on Lake Vermilion. His other hobbies over the years included water skiing, snow skiing, ski jumping, hunting, and flying radio-controlled planes.
Jerald is survived by his wife: Peggy; his children: Carolyn Graham of Bellevue, WA, and David Graham of St. Louis Park, MN; and his brother: Rodney (Patricia) Graham of Cherry, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
