Jeff Bauer, 64, of Warren, MN, died on Saturday, October 3, 2020, in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, after a long battle with cancer.
Jeffrey James Bauer was born on August 20, 1956 in Minneapolis, MN, to Arnold A. and Patricia (Ward) Bauer. He was raised in Minnesota and California with 9 siblings before graduating from Onamia High School in 1975. In 1976, Jeff enlisted in the US Army, serving his country for four years before his honorable discharge. He was married for a time and became a father to three sons. On September 27, 1997, Jeff was united in marriage to Kathi Jean Larson, who also has a daughter from a previous marriage.
Over the years, Jeff drove truck (for 24 years), owned his own business (for 8 years), and was the transportation supervisor for his local public schools until his retirement in August of 2018.
In these last years, as Jeff’s battle with cancer dragged on, his faith carried him through his difficult times. He was always very frank about his end saying: “As long as I end up in the right place, what do I have to be worried about?”
His final days were spent in the company of his wife and children.
He is survived by his wife, Kathi, with whom he celebrated his 23rd anniversary while in the hospital; three sons, Jason, Joseph, and Benjamin Bauer; daughters, Meghan (David) Geeslin, and Brooke (Devon) Binstock; grandchildren, Monroe, Cecelia, Raphael, Magnus, and another on-the-way; and all of his siblings, Mary Rose, Ruth Davis, Sue Sivula, Arnie Bauer, Theresa Hauan, Mike Bauer, Cathy Hoheisel, Donna Havemeier, and Barb Fritz.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents.
