Janice Ann Peterson, age 74 a longtime resident of Virginia died Wednesday, May 08, 2013 in Essentia St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth surrounded by her family. She was born August 24, 1938 in Hermantown, MN the daughter of Stephen and Amanda (Abrahamson) Jakubek and was a graduate of Hermantown High School. Janice lived in Hermantown and Omaha, NB prior to moving to Virginia. Janice first married William Otis and had five children. After the passing of her second husband, she married Robert A. Peterson on February 19, 1986 in Virginia. She was employed by Duluth Avionics, was employed as a CNA for the Virginia Arrowhead Nursing Home for 23 years, and worked part time with Evergreen Industries of Pengilly. Janice was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and had been a catechism instructor. She was an excellent homemaker, an interior decorator, and loved to knit, crotchet, and travel. Janice dedicated her life to her family.
