Born on July 15, 1956 in Osceola, WI to Paul and Ellen (Butterfield) Simenstad, Jane would go on to earn an English degree from St. Olaf College and a Master of Library Science from the University of Wisconsin in Madison. On August 11, 1979, she married John Sherman. They raised three sons, Ian, Scott, and Brian, and one daughter, Emma.
In addition to her love for her family, Jane had a passion for financial markets. Over the years, Jane managed many funds including several investment clubs with close friends.
Jane was preceded in death by her mother, Ellen and her father, Paul. She is survived by her husband, John; her four children and their spouses, Ian (Jane), Scott (Sarah), Brian (Chloe), and Emma (Ryan); her brother Mark; five grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
