James Leonard Campbell of Ionia, Michigan, died August 7, 2012 with his family by his side in Lansing, Michigan. He was born to Francis J Campbell and Dorothy L (Hendee) Campbell on August 10, 1945 in Lansing, Michigan. After graduating from Ionia High school in 1963 he served in Vietnam as an Army Medic. He was married to Deborah Dankert on September 17, 1977. Jim held various positions over the years, including Corrections Officer, heavy equipment operator, truck driver, welder and iron worker. He retired as a Maintenance Mechanic from the State of Michigan. He was a talented builder and mechanic who could fix or build just about anything. Jim enjoyed the outdoors–hunting, horseback riding and his favorite sport, golf.
