James L. Johnston
Age 75, of Portland, passed away on December 11, 2012. He was born on November 3, 1937 in Peck, MI, to Kenneth and Lola Johnston. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ronald, sister in law Doris, brother David, infant daughter Melissa and daughter in law Roberta. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Peggy Bricker Johnston, brother Richard (Jennie) of Peck, sister in law Carol Johnston of Sandusky, MI, brother in law Havel D. (Betty) Bricker of Pensacola, FL, children Lynne (Doug) Berry of Fayetteville, N.C., and Eric (Stacey) Johnston of Portland, grandchildren Trevor and Austin Berry, Alexis (Michael) Cassady, Jessica, Matthew, and Caroline Johnston, and great-grandson, Ty Cassady. Jim loved his family fiercely, was an avid Tiger baseball fan, and was so proud of the Portland Raider football team’s state championship this year. He will be missed tremendously by so many people.
