James Lewis Harris passed away on Monday, May 14, 2007 at his home in St. James, Missouri. James was 79 years 4 months and 27 days of age.

James Harris was born on December 17, 1927 in Owensville, Missouri to his parents: Louis Claud and Nora (Emmons) Harris. At the age of 4 his family moved to St. James, where James attended School, and met a girl by the name of Helen Parrish. After courtship and a trip to Salem, Arkansas in May 24, 1952 James and Helen Harris started there life together. James and Helen were blessed with two children; Allen and Judy. On the sad morning of May 28, 1989, the family chain was broken when Allen was called home to be with his Lord. With broken hearts, the family continued, James worked for the State Highway Department for 36 years and volunteered with the St. James Fire Department, where he recieved many rewards including Fireman of the Year. With Helen at James side the family continued to worship at the Church of God and where they were very active in his service. James for many years cared for the lawn of the Church Building and many other actives. Through long illiness and sufferings of live James continued his faith. On Monday morning with his wife Helen and daughter Judy at his side, James entered into his rest to that home where no hands have built but enternal in the heavens.

James is survived by his wife of the home: Helen Harris of St. James, Missouri; one daughter: Judy Guyton and husband David of Doolittle, Missouri; two grandchildren: Erin and Rick.

Preceding James in death are his parents: Louis Claud and Nora (Emmons) Harris; and one son: Allen Harris.
