James Joseph Miller, 79, of Ionia passed away late Saturday night at his home in the comfort of his loved ones.
Born July 31, 1928, Jim spent his entire life in Ionia, except during his time abroad serving in the Air Force. Jim retired from General Motors, was an avid golfer and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was proceeded in death by his son Paul, his brother Fred and his parents Leonard (Lefty) and Esther Miller.
Jim was known for his quiet dignified presence and unwaivering honor. He considered his family to be his greatest accomplishment and spent his life as the consummate protector. His integrity and virtue will serve as a beacon to those who survive him: Wife Shirley (Clark) Miller, Children Pam (Rich) Schanski, Ned Miller, Jill (Tom) Feahr, Amy (Tim) Flynn, Kerry Bohland, grandchildren Erin (Paul) Harker, Drew Schanski, Brittany Adams, Bailey and Evan Robinson, Holden Feahr, Trent and Jordan Miller, Max and Grace Flynn and Parker Bohland, great granddaughter, Bella Adams and siblings Bob and Bill Miller and Sally McCarthy.
